What is Dindins?
Dindins is a family meal planning app. A family member proposes a meal, everyone votes on it, cooking duty rotates fairly among the adults, and a shopping list builds itself from whatever gets planned for the week.
How do I stop my family arguing about what's for dinner?
Let everyone vote instead of one person deciding alone. In Dindins, anyone in the family can propose a meal, and the whole household votes on it, so dinner reflects what people actually want to eat, not just who planned the week.
How does voting on meals work in Dindins?
Any family member proposes a meal for the week, and everyone else votes on it. Popular meals rise to the top of the plan, so picky eaters and different tastes all get a say instead of one person guessing what will land.
How does Dindins decide who cooks?
Cooking duty is assigned and rotates fairly across the adults in the family, and Dindins tracks who has cooked over time with a running "top chef" ranking, so the same person isn't stuck cooking every night.
What platforms is Dindins available on?
Dindins is available now on iOS, in closed beta via TestFlight, and in the browser at app.dindins.food for family members who already have an account. An Android app is in active development and isn't publicly available yet.
How much does Dindins cost?
Dindins is free during the beta.
Can I add my own recipes to Dindins?
Yes. Import a recipe from any website by link, or take a photo of a recipe, physical or digital, and Dindins digitizes it, including scaling the ingredients to your serving size.
Does Dindins make a shopping list automatically?
Yes. Once meals are on the week's plan, Dindins builds the shopping list for you, grouping ingredients by store section and combining quantities across meals that share ingredients.
Does Dindins sync across every family member's device?
Yes. Changes to the plan, votes, and shopping list sync in real time across everyone's devices, and the app keeps working offline and catches up once you're back online.
Is Dindins good for picky eaters or a family with different tastes?
That's the point of the voting mechanic: instead of one person guessing what everyone wants, family members propose meals themselves and vote on what actually gets planned, so different tastes are accounted for rather than overridden.
