By using Dindins you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Who can use Dindins

You must be 13 or over to use Dindins.

A child under 13 may use Dindins only as a member of a family group created by their parent or guardian, who is responsible for that child's use of it.

Dindins is available in New Zealand and Australia.

2. What Dindins is

Dindins helps a family plan meals, keep recipes, build shopping lists and share out the cooking. It is free.

Dindins is not a source of medical, nutritional or dietary advice. Recipes come from you and from other people who use the app. Check ingredients yourself if anyone in your household has an allergy or intolerance, and follow safe food handling practices. We cannot verify that any recipe is accurate or safe.

3. Your content

What you create in Dindins is yours. You keep every right you have in it.

You give us permission to store your content, to show it to the people in your family, and to show it inside the app, so that Dindins can work. If you publish a recipe to the community, you also give us permission to show it to everyone using Dindins for as long as it is published. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups until those expire.

Only submit content you have the right to submit. Recipes you have written, adapted or learned are fine. Copying the text and photographs of someone else's recipe from a cookbook or a website and publishing it as a community recipe is not.

4. Community recipes: the rules

When you publish a recipe to the community, everyone using Dindins can see it, along with the name you publish it under. These rules apply to everything published there.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content. Do not publish anything that is:

  • abusive, harassing, hateful, or that attacks a person or group
  • sexual, violent or otherwise obviously unsuited to an app families use together
  • dangerous to follow, including anything unsafe to eat or designed to cause harm
  • illegal, or that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights
  • spam, advertising, or not a recipe at all
  • someone's personal information, including your own or your children's

Reporting. Every community recipe can be reported from the app, with a reason. We review reports and act on them as quickly as we can. A recipe that several people report is hidden automatically, straight away, while it is reviewed.

Blocking. You can hide a contributor from the app. You will not see their recipes again.

What we do. We remove content that breaks these rules. We can stop an account publishing, or remove it entirely, and we will do so for anyone who repeatedly breaks them or who publishes anything that endangers someone.

We review what is reported to us. We do not monitor everything published in advance, so please use the report button when you see something wrong.

5. Using Dindins properly

Do not:

  • use Dindins to harass, abuse or harm anyone
  • try to reach other people's data, or another family's data
  • attempt to break, overload or probe the service
  • use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download content
  • resell Dindins or use it commercially without our written agreement
  • impersonate anyone else

6. Your family

The person who creates a family runs it. They can invite people, remove people, and change what members can do. If you create a family, you are responsible for who you invite into it.

Anyone in a family can see that family's shared content. If you leave, or are removed, you lose access to it. Content you contributed stays with the family.

7. AI features

Some features send your content to OpenAI or to Anthropic so they can work. Each asks your permission first and tells you what it sends, and you can withdraw permission at any time. See the Privacy Policy for what goes where.

What AI features produce is a suggestion, not fact. Check it before relying on it, especially anything about ingredients or dietary suitability.

Free use of these features is limited, and we may change those limits.

8. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Sign-in is handled by Apple or Google.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This is permanent.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that is used illegally, or that puts other people at risk. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.

9. What we promise, and what we do not

Dindins is provided as it is. We do not promise it will always be available, error free, or that it will suit a particular purpose.

Please keep your own copies of anything you would be upset to lose. You can export your data from Settings → Privacy Settings → Export Data.

If you are a consumer in New Zealand, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 gives you rights that these terms do not affect, and nothing here excludes them. The same applies to the Australian Consumer Law for consumers in Australia. Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to NZ$100.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

10. Changes, and stopping

We may change these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Dindins after that means you accept the change.

We may stop offering Dindins. If we do, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data.

11. Law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and New Zealand courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the law where you live.

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
