Dindins is made by one person in New Zealand. Email bradley@sevensouthgate.com and you will get a reply from a human, usually within 5 working days.
Getting help
Email bradley@sevensouthgate.com. It helps if you include:
- What you were trying to do, and what happened instead.
- Your family name in the app, and the name you go by in it.
- Your iPhone model and iOS version, and the app version from Settings.
If something looks wrong with your family's meals or shopping list, say roughly when you noticed it. That makes it much easier to find in the logs.
Reporting a community recipe
Recipes shared to the Dindins community are written by other families. If you see something objectionable, tap the recipe, then Report, and choose a reason. Reports are reviewed and a recipe is hidden automatically once several people report it. You can also hide everything from a particular contributor from the same menu.
If you would rather not use the in-app report, email the address above and say which recipe it is. Objectionable content is removed and the contributor can be removed from the community.
Your account and your data
Deleting your account. In the app, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. This deletes your profile, your recipes, your ratings and your meal history, and signs you out everywhere. If you are the last member of your family, the family and its shared data are deleted too. It cannot be undone.
Getting a copy of your data, or asking what is held. Email the address above. Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what personal information is held about you and ask for it to be corrected. Formal requests are answered within 20 working days.
Where your data lives. Family data (meals, recipes, shopping lists, ratings) is stored in Google Firebase, in Australia. Some AI features send what you give them to Anthropic or OpenAI, and the app asks before the first time it does that. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent where.
Common questions
I reinstalled and my family is gone. Sign in with the same Apple ID you used before. The app restores your family from the server. If you are still seeing an empty app after signing in, email us rather than creating a second family.
Someone else's changes are not showing up. Changes sync when the device has a connection. If a device has been offline, open the app and give it a moment. If a meal or shopping item is still missing after that, tell us the day it was added.
I want to leave a family. Settings, then Family, then Leave Family. Your own account stays; you can join or create a different family afterwards.
More general questions are answered on the FAQ.
